The Dragon Prince

The Dragon Prince is a good book and now you are going to know about it. And, if you are interested alot, you might read it. This book is about two dragons named Ember and Brand who go on a big adventure to escape Ember's pack and save Shadrel, a boy. Ember's father (Herd Father) is going to eat Shadrel. Ember is best friends with Brand. This book is basically like segregation. THAT'S the reason Ember's pack hunts Brand. It's just because Brand is red. According to Ember's dad, there are no such thing as red dragons. Is it true? Find out in the book! Anyway, let me tell you a little bit of the book. Ember, Brand, Shadrel and this other human named Yemah set out on adventure to protect Shadrel and also find King Braiais, a human friend of a dragon. They were very hurt along the dangerous adventure, but the one who got really hurt was BRAND. Ember HAS to trust humans to heal Brand. Will Ember trust humans to heal brand? Also, Brand lies to Ember in the story and Ember is mad so there is also a possibility that their friendship will break. Ember dosen't trust a human, that's the problem. In fact ALL DRAGONS HATE HUMANS. That's why Ember's father tried to eat Shadrel. My favourite passageway is page 21.  It's funny when Ember says,"Where?" This is an awesome book even though sometimes it makes you a bit worried. It's a great book for grade 3 to grade 7. The author and illustrator is Vicki Blum. She wrote a lot of Unicorn and Dragon books. She lives in Calgary, Alberta. She is also an elementary school librarian and works with other writers. I hope you will read this book . . . it's awesome!
